On the relevance of long-distance contributions to CP violation in the K0 system

  • 1. Vienna Univ. (Austria). Inst. fuer Theoretische Physik

Description

The sensitivity of the CP violating parameter epsilon to long-distance contributions to the K0 average K0 mass matrix is estimated on general grounds. Improving the accuracy in the measurement of epsilon'/epsilon by an order of magnitude will unambiguously decide whether the standard model can account for CP violation for msub(t) < or approximately 50 GeV.
