Safeguard regulations for nuclear power plants in the USSR

Description
Problems of the state regulation of security of NPP with different types of reactors (WWER, RBMK, BN, AST) are illustrated. The regulation is based on the adopted organizational structure and system of normalizing documents. Contents of basic documents on the problem of NPP safety dealing with NPP projecting, disposition, construction and operation are outlined taking into account the maximum credible accident. The maximum permissible exposure doses for human population are presented. Attention is fucussed on the role of quantity- probability approach in safety standards
