Monte-Carlo and deterministic methods in radiative transfer
Creators
Description
Radiative Transfer, i.e. transport of radiation interacting with matter, is one of the main phenomena in the evolution of systems at high temperature. The various physical models used to describe it are briefly reviewed, as well as the usual approximations of the corresponding equations. Then some numerical methods worked out at the CEL-V to simulate the radiative transfer are commented: Monte-Carlo method for the full equations, and Monte-Carlo - finite differences coupling or deterministic methods for the diffusion and multigroup transport equations.
