A strong enhancement in electronic current due to conical-intersection

Description
Due to high degree of nonadiabaticity near the conical intersection point, the electron-vibration entanglement plays a key role in the quantum dynamics. We have studied the current through a molecule with a conical intersection within an electron transport set up considering the source and sink as fermionic reservoirs. A sharp enhancement in current is found which can be identified as a typical feature of conical intersection. This amplification of current is shown to be correlated with the Wigner function and other measures of entanglement. So the typical dynamics due to conical intersection can be probed through an electron transport measurement which stems from an interplay of the persistent and a sensitive type of entanglement present in the system.
