Orbit response matrix analysis in Indus-2 at 2.5 GeV

  • 1. Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore (India)

Description

During the design stage of a storage ring for synchrotron-radiation source, efforts to optimize the ring parameters such as operating tunes, chromaticities, natural beam emittance, dynamic aperture, etc. are made. In actual operation, there are number of reasons due to which these parameters deviate from the design values. It is therefore very important to measure the sources of the deviations in beam-optics parameters and restore design parameters. We report in this paper, the fitted sources of linear optics errors in Indus-2 storage ring. The measured orbit response matrix was fitted to the model-response matrix to obtain the quadrupole gradient errors, roll errors of the magnets, coupling of the corrector magnets and BPMs etc. The errors found generate the real machine model and will be useful for correction of the lattice parameters.
