Optimal strategy planning

The publication abstracted will be of help to engineers charged with the maintenance of power plants. Practical solutions are suggested and given access to by the presentation and discussion of different large-scale thermal power plant components. Planning should in any case be based on and start by the optimal scheming of maintenance strategies. The relevant aspects are referred to. Adequate systematico-methodical planning will lead to solutions to all stages of planning, the control phase, inclusive. Particular emphasis is on the systematy of plant identification and maintenance parameters as well as on the classification and selection of maintenance strategies and the application of the cost-benefit analysis as a vehicle of control. The planning method dealt with is based on a preventive and assumptive maintenance planning. However, this procedure may as well be combined with the increasingly applied constitutional maintenance. Above all the book will be a guide and advanced training to experts charged with the preparation of maintenance measures. Based on the present knowledge of operational research and systems engineering it will also facilitate students access to practical planning and the solution of relevant problems. (orig.)
