Backwarming due to circumstellar shells
Description
Reference is made to the paper by the authors in Nature 261: 674 (1976), which discussed the possible effects that a circumstellar dust shell might have on the evolution of a premain sequence star surrounded by it. It is stated that the equation given could be misleading, since it is applicable only to a very restricted set of physical parameters. It is concluded that backwarming has no real effect. (U.K.)
