Description
Nasopharyngeal carcinoma, the fifth commonest in Kenya, is discussed. The clinical presentation, duration of symptoms, histological differentiation and the treatment method are outlined. The paper discusses the problems experienced in the Department of Radiotherapy at KNH owing to insufficient facilities in the country and late presentation of the patients to the oncologists. One year local primary tumour and neck node metastases control is presented with suggestions for improving the overall results in the future. (author)
