The nuclear deformation parameters at high excitation energies

Description
The behavior of the deformation parameters with increasing excitation energy is analyzed in different theories. Realistic calculations are done for the nucleus 158Er. The inclusion of fluctuations leads to large departures from the mean field values. (orig.)
