The dp→3He η reaction at threshold

Description
The new data on the process dp→3He η at threshold are analysed in terms of a two-body reaction mechanism involving π, η and ρ exchange. D-state effects are included within a two-body cluster model for the 3He nucleus. In contrast to the dp→3Heπo case, the reaction rate is underestimated and the deuteron tensor analysing power t20 only weakly reproduced. This and other evidence suggests that three-nucleon mechanisms play an important role here. (author)
