The effect of ambient pressure on a vapour explosion (fuel-coolant interaction)
Description
Exploratory experiments have shown that the vapour explosion occurring when molten tin is brought into contact with water can be significantly influenced by changes in the ambient pressure in the range 8.7 psia (6 x 104Nm-2) to 20.7 psia (1.43 x 105Nm-2). (author)
