Description
Comments are offered on the specification of nuclear power plant design ground motions as outlined in the revised Standard Review Plan. Topics discussed are: seismological limitations of response spectra, problems with smoothed design response spectra, vertical design response spectra, amplification functions, nonlinear analyses, one-dimensionality, input motion, the Kanai-Tajimi formulation, operating basis earthquake, site specific spectra, and correlation between three components of motion
