Description
On 22 Dec. 2012, during an outage and operation with the maintenance cooling as the primary heat sink, the maintenance cooling system pump at Bruce A Unit 1 tripped on electrical protection. The operators attempted to restore maintenance cooling using the alternate maintenance cooling system pump, but it failed to start. After several attempts, neither of the maintenance cooling system pumps could run for more than a few minutes before tripping on electrical protection.
