Positron sources produced with a medical cyclotron: advantages and some applications
Creators

Description
Alternative methods to generate slow-positron beams are presented. Use of accelerator-produced short-lived positron emitters together with a new cylindrical source geometry is proposed to increase overall positron moderation yields from the source. Preliminary measurements are included and the potential use of short-lived radioisotopes as a primary source of positrons for certain applications is also discussed. (orig.)
