Polarizability of π mesons
- 1. Joint Institute for Nuclear Research
Description
The amplitude for the reaction γγ→ππ is calculated in a nonlocal quark model. Numerical values are found for the electric (α/sub π/) and magnetic (β/sub π/) polarizabilities of the pions: α* = 0.40α/m3/sub π/, β* = -0.39 α/m3/sub π/, α0 = 0.1α/m3/sub π/, β0 = -0.4α/m3/sub π/
