Differential cross-section zeros for antiNN → antiNN scattering and the spin of the S meson
Description
The use of differential cross-section zeros for studying dominant partial wave states in spin(1/2 + 1/2) → spin (1/2 + 1/2) scattering is explained. The results from anti p p → anti p p scattering in the backward hemisphere over the c.m. energy region 1900 to 2000 MeV/c2 strongly support a Jsup(PC) assignment of 2++ for the S(1936) meson.
