Description
Objective: To investigate surgical removability of pancreatic carcinoma through 3D multislice CT image reconstruction. Methods: Multislice CT scanning and 3D vascular image reconstruction were performed in patients with pancreatic carcinoma pre-operatively through MPR, CPR, RT3D, SSD and CTVE to see the vascular invasiveness. The CT image findings was evaluated by comparison with surgical operation finding. Result: Forty three cases of patients under-going surgical operation, of which 24 patients were regarded as irremovable through the CT image examination and 19 patients were regarded as removable pre-operatively. In operation, all of the 24 patients were actually not able to be removed as pre-operative evaluation, however, 18 of the 19 patients were successfully removed. The accuracy of pre-operative image evaluation was 95%. Conclusion: Pre-operative multislice CT image evaluation is of great use for prediction of surgical removability in patients with pancreatic carcinoma pre-operatively. (authors)
