Description
The purpose of the investigation is to gain a deeper insight into the nature of the increase in the cross section of inelastic interaction of protons with nuclei of the air and carbon, discovered in cosmic rays and confirmed in accelerator investigations of proton-proton collisions. To obtain the necessary information, the results are used of measurements of the cross sections of interaction of protons with various nuclei previously obtained. The relative increase in cross section, i.e. the energy dependence of the ratio of the measured cross section to that at an energy of Esub(p)=20 GeV is considered
