Applying the zipping method to Barkhausen noise in order to estimate the degree of (dis)order
Creators
Description
In the present work, it is shown that samples with composition Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si22.5-xBx (x=4, 6, 9) (Finemet samples) do exhibit the features of a disorder induced phase transition as the annealing temperature is varied from 50 deg. C to 600 deg. C, thus crossing the nanocrystalline phase of the material. The problem of the degree of disorder parameter is addressed by relative entropy calculations based on the zipping method (Phys. Rev. Lett. 88 (2002) 048702) applied to the Barkhausen noise time series
