Temperature shift of neutron resonances

  • 1. Joint Inst. for Nuclear Research, Dubna (USSR)
  • 2. Technische Univ., Dresden (German Democratic Republic)

Description

Temperature-induced shift of neutron resonances was experimentally observed studying low-energy resonances of 103Rh, 109Ag, 161Dy and 163Dy with a time-of-flight spectrometer at the Dubna pulsed reactor. The shifts are regarded as an analogue to the second-order Doppler effect in Moessbauer gamma-ray spectroscopy. (author). 5 figs., 8 refs
