Description
Some of the recent results concerning nucleus-nucleus elastic and inelastic scattering and the associated theoretical analysis are discussed. >From heavy ion elastic scattering data, a new complex nucleon-nucleon effective interaction has been obtained, which may be useful for relating scattering measurements to the nuclear structure of the colliding partners. A brief overview of the main lines of the analysis of nucleon-nucleus elastic scattering is given, and it is shown that the JLM formalism, which has been extensively applied in the case of stable nuclei, may be useful in analysing nucleon-nucleus elastic scattering involving unstable nuclei.
