The status of nuclear waste management in Canada

Description
The nature of mine tailings, low-to-medium level waste, and nuclear fuel waste, is explained. For each of these types of waste information is provided on total amounts in Canada, present management, and future plans including research. The Canadian research program on disposal of immobilized fuel waste in hard rock will culminate in a technical review of the concept and public hearings towards the end of the eighties
