Radioimmunological investigation of the function of the pituitary after treated and untreated hyperthyroidism

Description
A large number of endocrinous control systems are located in the pituitary gland. In patients suffering from hyperthyroidism, TSH, HGH, FSH, and LH were determined in the serum before and several times after treatment. The determination was carried out on an empty stomach after i.v. stimulation with 200γ TRH (Roche), 0.1 E unmodified insulin per kg. Isolation of the thyroid function was always done by 3-phase radioiodine investigation and, if necessary, also after T3 suppression or TSH stimulation. (GSE/AK)

Zahlreiche endokrine Regelsysteme haben ihren Sitz in der Hypophyse. An Patienten mit Hyperthyreose wurden vor und zu verschiedenen Zeiten nach der Therapie radioimmunologisch TSH, HGH, FSH und LH im Serum nuechtern nach Stimulation mit 200γ TRH (Roche), 0,1 E Alt-Insulin pro kg i.v. bestimmt. Die Abklaerung der Schilddruesenfunktion erfolgte in jedem Fall durch Radiojoddreiphasenstudium, falls erforderlich auch nach T3-Suppression oder TSH-Stimulation. (GSE)Additional details
