Thermodynamic properties of dilute solutions of ThCl4 in (Li-K)Cl and (Na-K) eutectics
Description
The Gibbs free energy of formation of ThCl4 in (Li-K)Cl is reported and a comparison is made with similar data obtained in (Na-K)Cl. The thermodynamic data have been obtained from e.m.f. measurements extrapolated down to infinite dilution. The standard potentials of the Th(IV-O) system at 400, 450 and 5000C are respectively equal to 2.52, 2.50 and 2.47 volts vs. Cl2/2Cl- in the m.f. scale. (author)
