Niobium segregation in the austenitic grain boundary

Description

The segregation of niobium and carbon in the boundary of the old austenitic grain (martensitic sample) of a steel 0,4%C/0,03%Nb, homogenized in 13500C for one hour, with the help of the ionic microprobe, using oxygen as primary beam, is studied. The niobium segregation in Fe /0,58Nb homogenized samples at 13000C by 8 hours and cooled in water, using the electronic microprobe is also studied. (E.G.)

Abstract (Portuguese)

Foi estudada a segregacao do niobio e do carbono no contorno do antigo grao austenitico (amostras martensiticas) de um aco 0,4 % C / 0,03 % Nb, homogenizado a 13500C por 1 hora, com o auxilio da microssonda ionica (SIMS - espectroscopia de massa do ion secundario), empregando-se oxigenio como feixe primario. Estudou-se, tambem, a segregacao do niobio em amostras Fe/0,58 Nb homogenizadas a 13000C por 8 horas e resfriadas em agua, utilizando-se a microssonda eletronica. (Autor)
