Description
The results of experimental study of the static strength and ductility for cylindrical specimens with a circular incision of various radius are presented. The materials of specimens are steels 35, 80, EhI961, alloys of titanium VT3-1 and of aluminium D16T. The empirical dependence of a relative increase in static strength of incision specimens on the value of coefficient of stress concentration is found. A correlation of the local plastic deformation index which describes the plastic characteristics of material with stress concentration coefficient corresponding to transition from the viscous failure to the brittle one is established
