State of the art of the information system about sealed sources without use at CDTN

Description
As part of institutional efforts of Brazilian Commission of Nuclear Energy, the Nuclear Technology Development Centre has been receiving a lot of sources without use coming from industries, hospitals and universities. A database of radioactive sources called 'Sistema de Informacoes Sobre Fontes Seladas Fora de Uso - SISFONTE', was implemented in the year 2000 and it is being continuously developed at the Waste Division of CDTN. The main objective is to keep all information about radioactive sources registered and updated, in order to reuse the disused sealed sources and to keep the radioactive inventory. (author)
