Description

The problem of compatibility of electrochromic materials (ECM) with the solid electrolyte and the selection of solid electrolytes has been studied by means of modelling. The model electrochromic system (ECS) containing cathodically coloring ECM (WO3), anodically coloring ECM (Ni(OH)2), and a solid proton electrolyte (HSbO3 x 2H2O), as well as ECS containing H/sub x/WO3 as counterelectrode has been investigated by the aid of cyclic voltammograms. Results show the compatibility of both the cathodic (WO3) and anodic (Ni(OH)2) ECM with solid proton electrolyte. Effective electrochromic devices can be worked out on their basis
