Description
In order to investigate entrance channel effects in the 32S system, coupled calculations have been performed for the 12C-20Ne and 16O-16O scattering. The explicit treatment of inelastic channels has a considerable influence on the calculated cross sections, but it is not sufficient to explain the observed differences in angular distributions and excitations functions of the two scattering systems. These differences are therefore conjectured to be due to precompound effects. (Auth.)
