Predictive value of silent postinfarction myocardial ischemia

Patients with myocardial infarction underwent loading two-dimensional echocardiography along with polyposition coronary angiography and transesophageal pacing in order to study the frequency and predictive value of induced silent myocardial ischemia. 1-5 year follow-up observations show that as regards the risk of postinfarction angina, reccurent myocardial infarction and fatal outcome, patients with silent myocardial ischemia represent an intermediate group between those with painful ischemia and those who have a negative load test
