A sketch of the various formulations of the theoretical optical potential for scattering processes

Description

The various formal derivations of the theoretical optical potential for scattering problems are outlined and their connections are discussed. Such a survey concerns the time dependent derivations as well as the stationary formulations in terms of the spectra properties of the many body system, of the nucleon-nucleon scattering amplitude and of the mass operator. The different pieces of information that every formulation gives are pointed out and the situations where each representation of theoretical optical potential is more suitable to obtain particular results are discussed. A brief comment on the mathematical and formal attitudes to handle this problem is also made. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

Die verschiedenen Ableitungen des theoretischen optischen Potentials fuer Streuprobleme werden dargestellt und ihre Verknuepfung diskutiert. Ein derartiger Ueberblick betrifft sowohl die zeitabhaengigen - als auch die stationaeren Formulierungen im Zusammenhang mit den spektralen Eigenschaften des Vielteilchensystems, der Nukleon-Nukleon-Streuamplitude und dem Massenoperator. Jede Formulierung liefert eine anderes Stueck Information, deshalb werden die Situationen diskutiert, fuer die die jeweilige Darstellung des theoretischen optischen Potentials geeignet ist, um bestimmte Ergebnisse zu erzielen. Ausserdem werden die mathematischen und formalen Schritte zur Behandlung dieses Problems kurz beschrieben. (orig.)
