Description
The Act of 1981 provides for protection of the environment by regulating the dumping into the sea (and incineration at sea) of wastes and other matter. The main purpose of the amendments of the 1986 Act which entered into force on 6 January 1987 is to prohibit the dumping of radioactive material into the sea. (NEA)

La Loi de 1981 a pour objet la protection de l'environnement au moyen de dispositions qui reglementent le rejet et l'incineration en mer de dechets et autres matieres. L'objet principal des modifications apportees par la Loi de 1986 est l'interdiction du rejet de matieres radioactives en mer. Cette Loi est entree en vigueur le 6 janvier 1987Files
