Clinical significance of determination of serum cholylglycine (CG) and hyaluronic acid (HA) levels in chronic asymptomatic HBV carriers
Description
Objective: To explore the clinical significance of detecting serum cholylglycine (CG) and hyaluronic acid (HA) levels in chronic asymptomatic HBV carriers. Methods: Serum cholylglycine (CG) and hyaluronic acid (HA) concentrations were determined with RIA in 35 HBV carriers and 100 controls. Results: The levels of serum CG in HBV carriers were significantly higher than those in the controls (P <0.01), the levels of serum HA in HBV carriers were also significantly higher than those in the controls (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Serum CG and HA levels might reflect the degree of mild liver damage in carriers with normal transaminase levels. (authors)
