Nuclear transient phase ranking table using fuzzy inference system

Description

This work presents a contribution to the development of the Phenomenon Identification and Ranking Table using fuzzy set theory. Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) has been used to aggregate the specialist's opinion about nuclear power plant (NPP) transients. The proposed methodology was used to take into account experts' opinions on the building of the top-ranked phenomena during each phase of a NPP transient. It was done in according to both, the arithmetic averaging of the grades and aggregation of corresponding fuzzy sets. The small-break loss-of-coolant accident in a two loop pressurized water reactor has been used as example case. The system defined as FIS permits the fast generation of a new Ranking Table, which may include new expert's opinions without additional calculations
