Enthalpies of formation of Zr-Au compounds determined by direct reaction calorimetry

Description

The enthalpies of formation of Zr(1-x)Aux compounds, (x =1/4, 1/3, 4/9, 1/2, 10/17, 2/3, 3/4, 4/5) have been measured by direct reaction calorimetry with reference to pure metals taken in their solid states. Mixing calorimetry, solid Zr in liquid Au, was performed at 1473 K. The results are compared to earlier experimental data and values predicted from Miedema's model. (orig.)
