Polarized electrons
Description
A recollection of several of the hallmarks in the fifty-year history of the field of polarized electrons is presented. In using the term polarized electrons, reference is to any ensemble of free electrons whose average spin direction is preferentially oriented in space. Sources of polarized electrons and experiments with polarized electron beams are considered. 139 references
