Antimony solubility in lead telluride

  • 1. Vsesoyuznyj Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Istochnikov Toka, Moscow (USSR)

Description

Antimony solubility in lead telluride was studied by the freezing method. Monocrystal specimens of lead telluride were annealed up to equilibrium at different fixed values of partial pressure of antimony vapour with subsequent cooling in running water. As a result of investigations into the dependence of carrier concentration on annealing ring temperature the following conclusions have been drawn. Antimony solubility in lead telluride has a retrograde nature. Solubility maximum of 2x1019 at/cm3 takes place at 650 deg C. Eutectic reaction in the PbTe-Sb system occurs at 350 deg C
