Description
One of the fundamental problems in modern astrophysics is the question of the nature of dark matter in the universe. In this frame historical aspects as well as recent developments in cosmology like the model of the inflationary universe are reported. Theories of postulated particles as possible candidates for dark matter as well as the influence of dark matter on the formation of cosmic structures are discussed
