Sensitivity analysis of the difference between JENDL and JEF libraries

Description

The objectives of this work were: to analyze the 2-D benchmark of BN-600 reactor with JENDL-3.2 and JEF-2.2 cross section libraries; to calculate the cross section sensitivity coefficients by the generalized perturbation theory and to evaluate quantitatively the dominant nuclides and reaction which cause the difference of the two libraries. The nuclear parameters treated were: the number of energy groups (18); effective microscopic cross section. Conclusions of sensitivity analysis include: criticality and sodium density reactivity are very sensitive to cross-section changes, and show strong non-linearity, which means difficulty for precise design work; steel density reactivity also has large sensitivity coefficients, but the mechanism seems rather simple; Fuel and absorber density reactivity are simple core parameters and easy to predict. Cross-section sensitivity gives a lot of information about the difference between libraries and uncertainty consideration of design accuracy
