A review of broad-band electrostatic waves in the magnetotail

Description

Recent results showing that ions beams are the cause of generating broad-band electrostatic waves in the magnetotail, as well as theoretical work in good agreement with the spectrum observed, is reviewed. The implications of this for the transport and other dynamics of the magnetotail are discussed
