Search for Θ+(1540) in exclusive proton-induced reaction p+C(N)→Θ+K0-bar+C(N) at the energy of 70 GeV

A search for narrow Θ+(1540), a candidate for pentaquark baryon with positive strangeness, has been performed in an exclusive proton-induced reaction p+C(N)→Θ+K0-bar+C(N) on carbon nuclei or quasifree nucleons at Ebeam=70 GeV studying nK+, pKS0, and pKL0 decay channels of Θ+(1540) in four different final state of the Θ+Kp-bar system. Upper limits on the cross-section ratio σ(Θ+K0-bar)/σ(Λ(1520)K+)<0.02 and σ(Θ+K0-bar)/σ(pφ)<0.15 at 90 % C.L. and a preliminary upper limit for the forward-hemisphere cross section σ(Θ+K0-bar)<30 nb/nucleon were obtained
Abstract (Russian)
В эксклюзивной реакции p+C(N)→Θ+K0-bar+C(N) на ядрах углерода или квазисвободных нуклонах в протонном пучке с энергией 70 ГэВ были проведены поиски узкого Θ+(1540), кандидата в пентакварковые барионы с положительной странностью. Поиски велись в трех возможных распадных каналах Θ+(1540)→nK+, pKS0 и pKL0 и четырех различных конечных состояниях Θ+Kp-bar-системы. Были получены ограничения на отношения сечений σ(Θ+K0-bar)/σ(Λ(1520)K+)<0.02 и σ(Θ+K0-bar)/σ(pφ)<0.15 на уровне достоверности 90 % и предварительное ограничение на сечение образования Θ+K0-bar-системы в переднюю полусферу σ(Θ+K0-bar)<30 нбн/нуклонAdditional details
