Future ISIS single crystal instruments
Description
The designs of two proposed new single crystal instruments for ISIS are described. The biological structures instrument DIBS will allow the study of large unit cell materials in reasonable counting times. HRED, the high resolution elastic diffractometer, will provide a single crystal instrument of resolution ΔQ/Q ∼ 10-3, increasing the available resolution for reciprocal space surveying by some 10-fold over that currently obtainable on SXD.
