Research on geological disposal: Performance assessment

Description

The role of the far-field in performance assessment is to define the flux and geochemistry of groundwater at near-field boundary and to define the pathways of nuclides from near-field to the accessible environment. This paper describes the concept and the results of the regional hydrogeology model and water chemistry evolution model. A result of modelling flow and mass transport within shear zone, which is important as a pathway in the far-field, and the derivation of the equivalent hydraulic properties of fractured rock using the discrete fracture network model are presented.
