Description
Since 1999, the Gesellschaft fuer Anlagen- und Reaktorsicherheit (GRS) together with the Institut de Radioprotection et de Surete Nucleaire (IRSN), France, and other European partners have organized the EUROSAFE Forum for Nuclear Safety. This is a scientific forum mainly for technical safety organizations, research institutions, government agencies, the power industry, non-government organizations, and politics. The 6th Forum organized in Berlin on November 8 and 9, 2004 was attended by more than 400 participants from Western and Eastern Europe, the United States of America, India, and Australia. The plenary lectures on the first day and the panel discussion were held under the heading of 'Learning from Experience: A Cornerstone of Nuclear Safety'. The seminar papers on the second day covered the same topic. The overarching objective of EURO-SAFE is the harmonization of nuclear technical safety practice in all of Europe. (orig.)
