Introduction to Alfven Eigenmodes excited by energetic ions
Description
The role of shear Alfven waves in magnetized cylindrical and toroidal plasmas is explained briefly, followed by description of a standard linear stability theory of Toroidal Alfven Eigenmode (TAE mode) in order to clarify the frequency and growth rate. (author)
