Energy dispersive x-ray diffraction analysis of NdBr3 at pressures up to 52 GPa

Description

The present study was stimulated by the report of a possible phase transformation in PrBr3 and NdBr3 from the PuBr3-type orthorhombic structure to an unidentified structure, based on changes observed in their absorption and phonon Raman spectra with pressure. Energy dispersive X-ray diffraction experiments on NdBr3 showed a possible distortion of the known orthorhombic structure as high pressure but no change in crystal structure
