Influence of the aerosol size distribution on effective dose from radon progeny using lung model

  • 1. Beijing Univ., Beijing (China). Dept. of Technology Physics

Description

A dosimetric approach method is being used to calculate the dose per exposure unit of the short-lived radon progeny. This article reviewed the human respiratory tract model in ICRP Publication 66 and analyzed the influence of the aerosol size distribution on lung deposition. The influence of the aerosol size distribution on effective dose from radon progeny was discussed using the deposition result. The relationships between the dose conversion factor and the unattached fraction also between the dose conversion factor and the size distribution of attached aerosol of the representative environment were reviewed and discussed through using experiment data.
