Synthesis of lead sulfide (PBS) quantum dots via aqueous route and its interaction with graphene oxide (GO)

  • 1. UGC-DAE Consortium for Scientific Research, Kolkata Centre, III/LB-8 Bidhannagar, Kolkata (India)

Description

Near infra-red (NIR) light emitting quantum dots had shown great promise in clinical imaging in view of negligible absorption by skin or tissue of mammalian.Current research developments have shown a promising outlook for the application of QDs/GO hybrids in real-life diagnostics and therapeutics. The present work presents synthesis of biologically acceptable luminescent near-IR emitting lead sulfide quantum dots through an aqueous route using GSH. In other metal-sulfide/GO involve light emitting components are from UV-Vis range. Here attempts are made to investigate the possible interactions between NIR QDs/GO for fabricating composite materials. (author)
