Gamma and neutron level measurement systems: comparison of techniques

Creators

Description

Many processes require level measurement sensors that operate reliably even when the measured material or process is unfriendly to the level measurement sensors. In this regard gamma and neutron level measurement techniques are called upon when a non-contacting approach to level measurement appears to deliver operational and/or economic benefits. There are four ways of detecting level using gamma high energy photons, viz. a) single point using through transmission, b) continuous using through transmission, c) single point system using backscatter and d) source mounted inside the vessel. The other technique is the neutron single point system
