CT diagnosis of orbital diseases, with special emphasis on the relationship with other diagnostic modalities

Description
After the introduction of computed tomography (CT), the spatial resolution of CT scanning has progressively improved, and submillimeter-resolution CT scanning is now possible. This report includes in analysis of orbital CT scans with which we have had experience recently and discusses the capacity of CT in diagnosing orbital diseases, with special emphasis on the relationship with other diagnostic modalities. The material of this report consists of normal orbital CT scans and abnormal ones to subjected neurosurgical interventions. The sections were usually parallel to Reid's baseline, and the collimations were 2, 5, 10, or 13 mm: in the latter three, overlapping techniques were used, and coronal scans were added in some cases.
